People with Disabilities Awareness Day 2016
On Tuesday, April 5, we have a chance to make our voices heard at the state Capitol during the annual People with Disabilities Awareness Day. But just attending this event is not enough. We have to multiply our voices.
This year, our theme has a super hero quality with “Empower the People.” Those who have a disability or work with or love a person with a disability know very well of the power within. We need our legislators and their staff to know that and to empower people with disabilities through enabling programs that benefit the most.
When we unite and stand together many great things can happen. If one, person learns about disabilities and issues important to those with disabilities – the day will have been successful. So challenge yourself; challenge your co-workers and challenge your clients to fill your vehicles and attend People with Disabilities Awareness Day on April 5th. To stand united, we encourage all to wear green on this day, if you can.
