After spending most of her career trying to sway policymakers and legislators to increase access to justice, Karen Lash began to wonder about life on the other side.

So in 2010, the longtime legal consultant, onetime co-chair of the California Access to Justice Commission and former associate dean at the University of Southern California School of Law joined the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Access to Justice as a senior counsel.
