Agricultural Worker
Program

About the Program

Legal Aid’s Agricultural Worker Program (formerly known as the Agricultural Worker Law Project) provides free, civil legal assistance to farm workers and their families in Oklahoma. The program is based out of our Oklahoma City Law Office and covers the entire state of Oklahoma. The program has two outreach workers located in the SW part of OK and the OK panhandle.

LASO AWP is a fairly new program (2.5 years) and prioritizes outreach to workers and partnerships with other community groups. LASO AWP maintains a Medical-Legal Partnership with Variety Care Rural Clinics in Anadarko, Fort Cobb, and Grandfield.

The Agricultural Worker Rights Program helps agricultural workers assert their employment rights. Our focus is on ensuring agricultural workers are paid what they are owed under the law; ensuring that their working conditions are safe; and addressing harassment and discrimination in the workplace. An agricultural worker is someone who works in agriculture all year, seasonally, or as a migrant or temporary worker.

*Agriculture is any crop, livestock, food products or processing.
